Material Feeding – careful, fast and accurate
The method of material feeding determines the success of the weighing process. To determine the most suitable feeding device, precise information on flow properties and material characteristics is necessary. CHRONOS BTH has extensive application knowledge based on the testing and evaluation of thousands of bulk materials. Based on this application knowledge CHRONOS BTH has developed a wide range of feeding devices for the E-series scales, which are suitable for a variety of material characteristics.
We will select the appropriate feeding system to ensure careful material handling, taking into consideration factors including speed, accuracy, material degradation and cleanout.
Gravity Feeders
The gravity feeder “G” is used for continuous feeding of free-flowing materials, such as plastic granules, granular fertilizer, grain, rice, sugar, etc. The quantity fed during full feed and dribble feed modes depends on the flow characteristics of the material and the distance the adjustable catch gate is opened. Dosing cross sections and quantities are adjustable.
Agitator Feeders
The “A”-feeder is the same as the “G” type feeder but additionally equipped with an agitator. The “A”-feeder feeds material which does not flow freely. Typical materials in this low performance range are pellets, bran and animal feed. The
agitator is motor driven.
Belt Feeders
Belt feeder Type “B”
The belt feeder is used for non-free-flowing materials which need to be handled carefully to maintain their structure, such as animal feed or pellets. The belt feeder can be used with a wide range of materials at a medium performance level and produces extraordinarily precise accuracies. The quantity of the fed material depends on the speed of the conveyor and the feeder cross section opened by the stream depth regulator.
Vibratory Tray Feeders
Vibratory chute feeder Type “V”
The vibratory chute is preferably used for difficult materials which need careful handling. Normally, these materials are non free-flowing, powdery or coarse ground, flaky or pelleted, such as forage flakes, resin and Caprolactam pellets, coal, coke or minerals. Type “V” can be cleaned easily and adapted for specific materials by additional coatings. The material is fed in full feed mode and dribble feed mode.
Single-Screw Feeders
To continuously feed non-free-flowing, mealy or powdery materials such as flours, feed pre-mixes, milk powders and minerals, we offer different types of screw feeders. Depending on the desired capacity, either single or double screw arrangements can be provided. To meet the demand for purity and hygiene of the bagged material, easy access for thorough cleaning is an important feature, e.g. by integration of cleaning doors, reversible configuration of the screws, outlet valves for removal of residues, options for wet cleaning, etc.
Double-Screw Feeders
To continuously feed non-free-flowing, mealy or powdery materials such as flours, feed pre-mixes, milk powders and minerals, we offer different types of screw feeders. Depending on the desired capacity, either single or double screw arrangements can be provided. To meet the demand for purity and hygiene of the bagged material, easy access for thorough cleaning is an important feature, e.g. by integration of cleaning doors, reversible configuration of the screws, outlet valves for removal of residues, options for wet cleaning, etc.
Dosing Cone Type KD
The dosing cone is used for fragile, free-flowing or fluidizing materials where it is necessary to maintain the materials’ structure: such as the fine grains of powdery animal feeds and vitamin additives. The filling cross section can be adjusted to full feed and dribble feed by lowering the cone. The dosing cone is made of sintered, air permeable material and during the filling operation air is injected into the cone to facilitate a continuous material flow.
