Automatic Bagging & Palletising at Dunns (Long Sutton) Ltd

Several months ago Dunns (Long Sutton) Ltd contacted CHRONOS about a new requirement for an automatic bagging and palletising system for their plant in Long Sutton, Lincs.

Dunns are a long-established agricultural seed merchant that specialise in supplying premium quality pulse products for human consumption for both the domestic and export markets. Their requirement was for high speed bagging of beans into open-mouth paper and woven polypropylene bags.

Duplex CHRONO-WEIGH™ E55 net bagging weighers are utilised to make precision weighments into the openmouth bags that are automatically presented to the filling spout by a highspeed bag placer. The plain sewn bags are then automatically palletised by a CHRONO-PAL™ Compact Palletiser that is rated at 1000 bags/hour.

The Compact Palletiser has provided some major benefits to Dunns. The neat and stable pallets produced have not only allowed an average of additional 4 extra full pallets to be loadedinto each container, but they have also dramatically reduced the loading time when positioning the full pallets into the containers.
