Innovative FFS SYSTEM introduced at ACHEMA, FRANKFURT (GERMANY)

The Chronos Richardson Europe Group with its Managing Directors Ingo Jonas from CRS Germany and Riccardo Taino from CR Italy introduced the new FFS-H series, a Form, Fill & Seal system for bags from tubular film for the Chemical, Minerals and  Wood industries, at the international shows IPACK IMA Milan / Italy and ACHEMA, Frankfurt / Germany.

This new generation CHRONO-BAG™ FFS-H series provides a universal, flexible and economical packaging system for tubular form, fill and seal applications at all  throughput requirements up to 2,200 bags per hour [depending on the handling characteristics of the bulk material being packed]. The system is suitable for both free flowing and difficult to handle bulk materials.

A key feature of CHRONO-BAG™ FFS-H product range is its compact, sturdy design that can be supplied in 3 versions FFS-H, FFS-HS and the high speed version FFS-HSS. The system operation is user-friendly with a graphical touch panel interface and simple text-based operator guidance. The control cabinet is a pre-installed and tested part of the system for simple integration and commissioning when being installed on site. An automatic reel lifting system allows reel changeover to be safely carried out within a few minutes.

To ensure that maximum operating speeds are achieved, bag forming, filling and sealing are simultaneously completed at dedicated stations. The tubular film is transferred to the bag forming station. Bag forming is determined by either  pre-programmed data in the system control or by photocell reading of a pre-printed mark on the film. The formed bag is then transferred to the filling station. The bulk material is pre-weighed by high capacity E55/56 series net weigher and matched material feeders: screw, double screw, belt or vibratory feeder; the choice being matched to the product being packed. After welding the upper seal the filled /closed bag is released onto a conveyor belt for transfer to the warehouse or palletiser. Simple and efficient design with low maintenance requirements for universal applications.
